"We acknowledge Iran's support for the Syrian government and people in the ongoing war against the terrorist groups," Sabbagh said in a meeting with members of an Iranian parliamentary delegation in the Syrian capital on Friday.
The Syrian parliament speaker, meantime, condemned the US interference in Iran's internal affairs, and said that Washington has always acted in accordance with the demands and interests of Israel.
"The US has always played a negative role in the Middle East, so the interventions by Washington in Iran's unrest was not surprising, as the country has made a habit of meddling in internal affairs of other countries and violation of international law," Sabbagh added.
In a relevant development on Thursday, Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis underlined that his country has prioritized Iranian construction firms in reconstruction of Syria.
"Incentive packages have been considered for the Iranian companies in development projects of Syria," Khamis said in a meeting with visiting Iranian lawmakers in Damascus.
The Syrian prime minister expressed his special thanks to the unsparing support of the Iranian government and people for Syria in fighting against terrorism and termed the victories in Syria as a great achievement for the resistance movement.
He laid special emphasis on the participation of Iranian companies in economic activities and reconstruction projects of Syria.
