TEHRAN(Defapress) – Around 8 a.m. local time, an hour before the beginning of the Parliament’s meeting, a suspicious package was discovered by the parliament’s security forces in yard of the complex.
Red status warning was announced in the parliament following the discovery of the package. Security forces had also prevented the entry of visitors and journalists into the parliament.
Bomb disposal experts analyzed the contents of the package and announced that there was no problem. So, around 9:45 a.m. local time the situation returned to normal.
On June 7, 2017, terrorist group of Daesh carried out two coordinated attacks against the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) and the mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini in southern Tehran, killing 17 and injuring over 50 people.
