TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, Pro-Palestinian demonstrators scaled Cornell University’s McGraw Tower on Monday, unfurling a massive 9-meter (30-foot) banner bearing the word "GAZA" in bright red letters.
The protest follows reports that the Trump administration has withheld over $1 billion in funding from the upstate New York university, a move allegedly tied to efforts to suppress campus protests against the war in Gaza.
In recent weeks, Cornell has faced backlash after canceling a concert by singer Kehlani, a prominent advocate for Palestinian rights. Several students involved in pro-Palestinian demonstrations have also been disciplined, including PhD candidate Momodou Taal, who departed the U.S. last month after his student visa was revoked.
