24 Islamic Countries Condemn the Zionist Regime's Decision to Occupy Gaza

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Sky News Arabic, 24 Arab and Islamic countries issued a joint statement on Saturday evening, strongly condemning the Israeli regime's decision to exercise "full military control" over the Gaza Strip, calling it a dangerous act, contrary to international law, and an attempt to consolidate the illegal occupation by force.

The Islamic and Arab countries expressed this condemnation in a statement by the ministerial committee that the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic meeting had tasked with examining the developments in the Gaza Strip.

The committee, which includes countries such as Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Indonesia, Nigeria, Palestine, Qatar, Turkey, Bangladesh, Chad, Djibouti, Gambia, Libya, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, and institutions such as the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, issued the aforementioned statement due to the deplorable developments in Gaza.

The statement states: The announced decision by Israel is a continuation of the regime's widespread violations, including killings, starvation, attempts at forced displacement, annexation of Palestinian lands, and violent actions by settlers; actions that could amount to "crimes against humanity."

The statement warned that these policies destroy any hope for peace, undermine regional and international efforts for a ceasefire and an end to the conflict, and multiply the suffering of the Palestinian people, who have been under siege and widespread attacks in Gaza for more than 22 months, as well as repression in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
