TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al-Mayadeen, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that popular forces have been deployed across the country to confront any threat from the American aggressors.

Maduro Stresses Military Preparedness Against US Threats

Maduro emphasized during the founding conference of the Venezuelan Farmers’ Union: “We have placed the weapons of the republic at the disposal of the armed forces, the people, and the Bolivarian militias.”

Referring to Venezuela’s defense strategies, he added: “Two fundamental lines are fully implemented; first, the active and long-term resistance of our people and second, the initiative and continuous attack on all fronts.”

Maduro’s statements come after US President Donald Trump warned Venezuela in a message on his Truth account on Saturday.

To justify Washington's military actions against Caracas, Trump claimed: "We want Venezuela to immediately accept all prisoners and patients of mental institutions, including the worst mental institutions in the world, that the Venezuelan leadership has forced into the United States!"

The US president claimed in this regard: "Thousands of people have been severely harmed and even killed by these monsters. Get them out of our country immediately, right now; otherwise, the price you will pay will be incalculable!"

These statements were made after the US president had previously announced that the country's forces stationed in the Caribbean region had once again attacked a Venezuelan ship, killing 3 people in the process.

He wrote on his social network that "this deadly direct attack was carried out on his orders in the US Southern Command area of responsibility," an area that includes 31 countries in South and Central America and the Caribbean.
