Resolution 2231 Has Expired and Has No Validity

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Hamidreza Hajibabaei, Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, stated in an interview with Defapress correspondent about the end of the validity of UN Security Council Resolution 2231: This issue has ended legally and has no meaning anymore, because we have passed the history of this resolution.

He added: We thought that Europe was America's less prominent partner and had the role of a little brother, but today Europe is not only not a partner, but is also an unquestioning subordinate of America and Trump. This behavior is not worthy of Europe, which has a long history and civilization, so it shows that all its freedom-loving slogans and claims have been discredited in practice.

Hajibabaei emphasized: The Security Council, which is currently chaired by Russia, must take action regarding the invalidity of the resolution in question; of course, countries such as Russia and China have stated in their positions that the Islamic Republic of Iran is right.

He continued: At the recent IPA meeting, which was attended by 131 countries, the atmosphere showed that the international community has well understood that the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran are logical. The proposal that I presented at that meeting was approved without any opposition, and this is evidence of the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic and the global opposition to the approach of the United States and the Zionist regime.

The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament emphasized: America has been pulling the trigger against us for 46 years, and we are well acquainted with its games; we know both ways to circumvent and methods of countering.

He said: Today, with the support of countries such as China, Russia, BRICS members, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Iran is in a better position to confront American pressures, and this trend shows that we are overcoming challenges.

Hajibabaei noted: Recent economic developments have also shown that the enemies have not been able to make a fundamental change in the country's situation, and God willing, we will see more positive results in the coming months.

Emphasizing the need to strengthen internal cohesion, he said: Today, more than ever, we need unity, synergy, and mutual trust between the government, parliament, and people. Our enemies are seeking to disappoint the nation by creating psychological warfare, but experience has shown that whenever the people and officials stand together, the pressures are ineffective.

The Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly added: The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its path based on dignity, wisdom, and expediency. By relying on domestic strength and cooperation with independent countries, we have a bright future ahead of us, and no pressure or threat can stop the Iranian nation from the path of independence and progress.
