TEHRAN (Defapress) - Abu Obeida, who only some sources have given the name "Huthayfa Samir Abdallah al-Kahlout", is the pseudonym of the spokesman for the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, whose precise information such as his real name, place of birth and full identity remain confidential.

The famous spokesman for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades (the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas), was one of the most well-known and at the same time most mysterious figures in the Palestinian resistance. A figure whose real name, even his face, had become an intelligence nightmare for the Zionist regime for years.

Birth and life

Abu Obeida was born on February 11, 1985, and often appeared in the media with a headscarf covering his face. But to answer the question of who Abu Obeida is, it must be said that he was the main media figure of the Palestinian Resistance and the most prominent symbol of Hamas's media and psychological war against Israel.

Joining the Resistance

Abu Obeida's official activity began in 2002 as a military officer. After Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005, Abu Obeida was officially appointed as the spokesman for the al-Qassam Brigades and first appeared in public on June 25, 2006, announcing Operation "Broken Illusion" and the capture of Gilad Shalit.

Among his most important activities are providing information and leading the media in operations such as the capture of Gilad Shalit (2006), expressing positions during major battles such as Al-Aqsa Storm in 2023, and responding to threats from Israel.

Abu Obeida has repeatedly emphasized that the Palestinian Resistance is fully prepared for a battle of attrition and special operations, and has always played an effective role in regional solidarity by warning Israel and supporting Resistance groups in the region, including the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement.

In his messages, Abu Obeida has discussed new methods of psychological warfare, encouraging the Palestinian community to stand up and defend the prisoners, and emphasizing the continuation of the struggle until the siege of Gaza is lifted.

Solidarity with Iran

Regarding Abu Obeida's Iran, reliable sources have reported that he condoled the martyrdom of several Iranian commanders and people and emphasized that this solidarity is due to Iran's support for the Palestinian Resistance.
