TEHRAN (Defapress) - French President Emmanuel Macron wrote in a message on X after a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman: While new negotiations have begun in Islamabad, the Saudi Crown Prince and I agreed to remain in close contact to help reduce tensions, ensure freedom of navigation, and reach an agreement that ensures lasting peace and security in the region.

The French President added: In this telephone call, I emphasized my support for the ceasefire. The ceasefire must be fully respected and extended to Lebanon without delay. We also discussed the need to restore completely free and safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible.

Emmanuel Macron also spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and once again called for the ceasefire to be respected and implemented in Lebanon. He also stressed the need for a strong and lasting diplomatic solution. On the other hand, the Turkish President emphasized Turkey’s continuous diplomatic efforts, together with the relevant countries, to achieve a ceasefire in Iran.

Regarding Lebanon, the Turkish President also stressed that initiatives that could undermine the ceasefire in this country should not be allowed to emerge.

Since the ceasefire was established, Tehran and Washington have been at odds over the issue of including Lebanon in the peace agreement, and the Zionist regime is determined to continue its attacks against Hezbollah. In this regard, the regime carried out the most brutal attacks against Lebanon last Wednesday, which, according to the latest statistics, killed at least 357 people.
