Heading a high-ranking delegation, Salehi left Tehran for Rome on Thursday to deliver a speech at the XXth Edoardo Amaldi Conference due to be held from October 9 to 10.
He also plans to hold talks with senior Italian officials and pay visits to the European country’s nuclear facilities.
After his trip to Rome, Salehi is slated to head to London at the official invitation of British Foreign Scretary Boris Johnson.
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei are co-organizing the XXth Edoardo Amaldi Conference - International Cooperation for Enhancing Nuclear Safety, Security, Safeguards and Non-Proliferation - 60 Years IAEA Atoms for Peace and Development and Euratom Treaty, according to the official website of the European Commission.
The XXth Edoardo Amaldi Conference will provide an important forum for experts and scientists to discuss different approaches and promote progress towards enhanced nuclear safety, security, safeguards and non-proliferation.
