Speaking at a cultural ceremony in the city of Qom on Monday, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said the production of missiles in Iran will never come to a stop even if the "whole country is surrounded by walls”, noting that the missile industry has become an "indigenous and local” one in the Islamic Republic.
The IRGC will not be undermined or deceived by the enemies, and would press ahead with the plans to boost its military capabilities, the commander underlined.
He also assured the Iranian nation of the country’s great defense power, describing the enemy’s threat of military action as part of a "psychological war.”
Earlier this month, IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said if the US carries out the so-called Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), it will then have to relocate its regional bases out of the reach of Iran’s missiles, which have a range of 2,000 kilometers.
Washington should know that Iran will use the opportunity provided by Donald Trump Administration’s lunatic conduct of the JCPOA to boost its missile program as well as it regional and conventional defense plans, the IRGC chief had announced.
CAATSA expands US sanctions targeting Iran's ballistic missile program, and enhances the legal basis for existing sanctions targeting the IRGC. It would also establish an additional US legal basis for sanctions targeting IRGC on the allegations of support for terrorism.
