Army chief meets with his Russian counterpart
TEHRAN (defapress) – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri met and talked with his Russian counterpart, Valery Gerasimov.
Maj. Gen. Bagheri, who is on an official visit to the
Russian city of Sochi on Monday night to take part in the Iran-Russia-Turkey
summit on developments in Syria, met and talked with Chief of Russian General
Staff Valery Gerasimov.
The meeting was also attended by the Iranian Ambassador to Moscow, Mehdi Sanaei.
Mohammad Bagheri had landed in Russian city of Sochi on Monday night and is heading a high-ranking military delegation.
The Sochi summit will discuss the latest developments in the fight against terrorism in Syria to take a common approach to complete eradication of terrorist and Takfiri groups and to restore lasting security and stability in the country.
