Police chief hails martyrs' role in safeguarding IranAshtari made the remarks addressing the funeral ceremony of a martyr in Lorestan Province on Thursday.

Iranian people, army and officials will foil enemies’ plots, he said.

He referred to the US President Donald Trump’s threats against Iranian people on the occasion of the Student Day (13th of Aban) rallies, saying enemy is not aware of Iranians’ power.

The 13th of Aban in the Iranian calendar has been named as the Student Day and the Day of Struggling against World Arrogance.

On 13th of Aban 1358 (November 4, 1979) Iranian students took over the US embassy in Tehran. On the same day previous year, a group of Iranian high school and university students were killed by the security forces of the deposed Shah regime, while taking part in a protest demonstration.

Enemy will not reach its goal in economic, military and political war with Iran, Ashtari noted.
