UK's Hunt meets Iran's Zarif

Hunt is to visit Iran's secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani as well.

Bilateral, regional, and international interactions are to be discussed on Hunt's visit to Tehran.

This the first time Hunt visits Iran after taking office as UK secretary of state for foreign affairs on July 9.

As the visit takes place after the US has implemented the second round of sanctions on Iran, it looks the Special-Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to be proposed by the European Union will also be on the agenda of the visit.

SPV is a financial mechnism which is to help Iran and Europe to have banking interactions.

Zarif and Hunt had once met in New York on the sidelines of the 73rd United National General Assembly in September.
