Karrar, the professional armored Iranian tank

TEHRAN (defapress) – Karrar as the main battle tank, unveiled in 2016. This tank has a 51-ton weight, 9.5 meters (including the ball tube) length, 3.7 meters in width, and 2.3 meters in height. The passengers of this tank include the commander, driver, and cannoneer.

It was stated that it possessed an electro-optical fire control system, a laser rangefinder, ballistic computer and could fire at stationary and mobile targets day or night. This tank has the ability of an automatic bullet launcher. The fire rate of this tank is 2000 to 2500 meters.

Experts estimated that the power of Karrar's engine is 1000 to 1200 horsepower.

Karrar has been made based on T-72 Russian tanks. This tank has 22 cannon ready to fire and it takes 5-8 seconds to fire. It can pass through difficult areas, pits, and rivers, and move underwater, and it can camouflage against anti-armor weapons.

The rivals of this tank are the Russian T-90, American Abrams M-1, and British Challenger-2.
