TEHRAN (Defapress) - Chowdhury said on Sunday that hundreds of Rohingya Muslims cross the border and enter Bangladeshi territory every day.
He added that 400 Rohingya Muslims entered the country during the past 24 hours.
He pointed out that it is difficult to know the exact number of people entering Bangladesh.
He pointed out that the sounds of mortar shells have been heard from the Myanmar border for the past three days, and that this situation is causing fear in Teknaf.
He also mentioned that nearly 70 bodies with gunshot wounds were found in the Naf River, located on the border of the two countries, during the last month.
Hundreds of Rohingya Muslim refugees, forced to leave the area due to attacks by the Arakan Army in Maungdaw, have died while trying to cross the Naf River between Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Thousands of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar are experiencing a new displacement journey as clashes between government forces and armed groups escalate.
Starting on August 25, 2017, Myanmar's armed forces and Buddhist militias launched a military campaign and brutal massacres against the Rohingya in Arakan province, killing thousands of them, according to identical local and international sources, in addition to forcing nearly a million others to seek refuge in Bangladesh, according to the United Nations.
