TEHRAN (Defapress) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced that Tehran intends to engage in discussions with European countries without waiting for the United States.

Iran will not wait for the US in discussions

During an interview with state television on Sunday, Araghchi remarked, “We will not endorse any agreement until our interests are adequately safeguarded.”

He further asserted, “The identity of the negotiating party is irrelevant; our approach will prioritize the protection of our interests.”

Araghchi also mentioned, “Naturally, negotiations with the Americans come with specific conditions. There were interactions during the previous administration, and we are prepared to continue those discussions in the current administration if deemed necessary.”

He added, “It is evident that the Americans are not prepared for negotiations at this moment.”

“There is limited time remaining before their presidential elections. It is typical for no nation to engage in serious negotiations during an election period,” he noted.

“If required, we will initiate discussions with European nations and will not postpone for the United States,” he confirmed.
