Role of Iran's Defense Systems in Changing the Enemy's Calculations

TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Air Defense Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army is one of the operational forces responsible for defending the skies of our country, and it has been able to powerfully protect the airspace of the Islamic Republic.

This force, alongside the air defense units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), created a significant epic in the battle against the fighter jets of the Zionist regime, successfully preventing the invading aircraft from entering Iranian airspace. As a result, these fighter jets were forced to launch their air-to-surface missiles from a distance.

Despite the failure of the Zionist regime's air attack, its media is attempting to spin this defeat into a victory. Despite the extensive air assault by the Zionist army, the attack was largely repelled thanks to the robust defense by the Air Defense Force of the Army and the IRGC's air defense units.

In recent months, hostile media outlets have tried to portray Israel's air attack as successful. They have circulated videos on social media platforms like Instagram, featuring claims by high-ranking U.S. officials. One such video was of an interview with Donald Trump, who claimed that Iran's air defense systems had been destroyed!

Reaction of Iranian Military Officials to Enemy Claims

Brigadier General Ali Shademani, Deputy Coordinator of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, in an interview with the Defapress correspondent, stated: "The enemies, especially the Americans and Zionists, try to cover up their defeats with exaggeration and lies. They attempt to portray the Islamic Republic of Iran as weak, but this is far from the truth. Our armed forces are at the peak of readiness."

Referring to the enemy's propaganda regarding the destruction of Iran's air defense systems, he emphasized: "As an informed military official, I can say that contrary to the enemy's claims, only a small number of defense systems were damaged. These have been replaced with new systems, which are now fully operational."

Reports indicate that the Zionist regime's air attack failed to cause significant damage to Iran's air defense systems, and Iran's air defense performed well in this regard, as demonstrated in recent military exercises.

Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard, Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Joint Air Defense Base, in an interview with Defapress, stated: "In recent exercises, we have witnessed a significant increase in the combat capabilities of our air defense compared to 2 or 3 months ago. Our power to counter any threat has grown."

Brigadier General Sabahifard added: "If the enemies miscalculate, we now can deliver a much more crushing response to them."

Field reports from the Islamic Republic of Iran Army's maneuvers show that the Air Defense Force has not only not weakened but has also demonstrated its power in hunting down hostile aircraft through the testing of the Bavar-373 system and other indigenous systems, as well as the implementation of innovations.

Major General Seyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, stated: "In line with the directives of the Supreme Leader, the Deputy for Science, Research, and Technology, along with the Army's self-sufficiency jihad organizations, have achieved highly favorable and effective results through synergistic collaboration with elite, academic, and specialized knowledge-based companies in the country. These results are evident in such maneuvers."

Major General Mousavi noted: "The equipment, tools, and armaments of the Army across all its branches have seen significant quantitative and qualitative advancements."

The question arises: If Iran's air defense has been completely destroyed, why couldn't Israel cause more damage to sensitive military centers with a few more sorties? And why hasn't it launched a new air attack with some of its squadrons from the Nevatim Air Base? The answer is that the Zionist regime only pretends to be victorious in the virtual space and on social media, while it has achieved nothing on the actual battlefield.

Brigadier General Seyed Mehdi Farahi, Deputy for Industrial and Research Affairs at the Ministry of Defense, stated: "The reality is that in war, clashes happen, but the claim that our air defense has weakened or has been completely destroyed, is certainly wrong. We assert that our air defense, both in terms of arrangement and deployment, as well as in terms of diversity and capabilities, has not only not weakened since before October 26, 2024 (referring to the Zionist regime's aggression against Iranian territory) but has actually become stronger."

He emphasized: "In these past few months, both preliminary and comprehensive assessments have been conducted, and, thank God, our air defense now possesses extraordinary capabilities. You may have read in the media that structural reforms have been implemented under Major General Bagheri's vision. I believe we will see the effectiveness of these reforms in the future, and certainly, our air defense systems will have an exceptionally appropriate response in both hardware and software aspects."

The Air Defense Force of the Army and the IRGC's air defense units have demonstrated in the recent battle against the Zionist regime's fighter jets that the Islamic Republic of Iran possesses a reliable air defense capability that updates its capacities based on the situation.
