Lebanon Is Not an Israeli Colony

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the Al-Jumhuria newspaper, Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, in response to recent events in the country surrounding the incidents at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut, stated: "We are currently in a very sensitive phase, and the crisis that has arisen regarding the issue of the Iranian plane must be resolved responsibly and wisely, away from media sensationalism. This is because new and reciprocal mistakes will lead Lebanon toward tension."

Nabih Berri added: "This issue must be resolved through direct dialogue between the governments of Iran and Lebanon, and we will never allow the Zionist occupying regime to make decisions for us. This regime is attempting to do so in the matter of preventing Iranian planes from entering Beirut International Airport."

The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament emphasized sharply: "We are not, and will never be, a colony of Israel. We oppose any foreign dictates that harm Lebanon's sovereignty. The current crisis must be resolved immediately in accordance with Lebanon's national interests."
