TEHRAN (Defapress) - Mohammed Abdulsalam, the spokesperson and head of the negotiating delegation of Yemen's National Salvation Government, met with Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, this morning (Monday) in Muscat.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister praised the honorable solidarity of the Yemeni government and people with the oppressed Palestinian people in the face of the 16-month-long occupation and genocide by the Zionist regime in Gaza. He emphasized that this support played a significant role in the victory of the Palestinian people and Resistance, as well as in imposing a ceasefire on the Zionist regime.
Araghchi also reiterated the principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting Yemen's territorial integrity and national sovereignty, stating: "Stability and security in Yemen play a crucial role in the security and sustainable development of the entire region."
The Foreign Minister further noted the recent visit of the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen to Tehran, describing the continuation of talks and the diplomatic path as beneficial and effective. He emphasized Iran's ongoing support for the Yemeni government and people.
Mohammed Abdulsalam, the spokesperson and head of the negotiating delegation of Yemen's National Salvation Government, expressed satisfaction with the imposition of a ceasefire agreement on the Zionist regime. He stated: "We are closely following regional developments and the implementation of the ceasefire agreement. We are fully prepared for any aggressive moves by the invaders, and Yemen's future actions in support of the Palestinian people will depend on the opposing side's commitment to fully implementing the ceasefire."
He also provided a report on the latest field developments in Yemen, highlighting national cohesion and solidarity among the Yemeni people. He expressed gratitude for the political and moral support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Yemeni government and people in the face of enemy aggression.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on some issues of mutual interest in regional and international arenas.
The 8th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Indian Ocean Rim countries, hosted jointly by Oman, India, and Singapore under the slogan "Towards New Horizons of Maritime Partnership," will be held in Muscat with the participation of high-ranking officials from 20 member countries.
In addition to attending and delivering a speech at this summit, the Foreign Minister of Iran will hold bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers and other participating officials in Muscat.
