First Operational Deployment of the Yak-130 in the Zulfiqar 1403 Army Maneuver

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Brigadier General Alireza Sheikh, the spokesperson for the joint military exercise Zulfiqar 1403 of the Army, stated: "As part of this exercise, the Yak-130 combat aircraft participated in a joint aerial operation for the first time, showcasing some of its advanced and unique capabilities. During the operation, the Yak-130, alongside 2 MiG-29 fighter jets, took part in intercepting and destroying a target drone."

Brigadier General Sheikh added: "The MiG-29 pilots demonstrated high skill in identifying and intercepting the target drone. Subsequently, the Yak-130 completely destroyed the drone by firing advanced missiles. This operation highlights the high level of coordination and capability of the Army's Air Force in executing complex aerial missions."

The exercise spokesperson noted: "The first deployment of the Yak-130 in this exercise marks a milestone in demonstrating the capabilities of the Army's Air Force. With its modern design and high operational capabilities, the aircraft delivered an impressive and noteworthy performance in its debut."

He continued: "The participation of the Yak-130 in the Zolfaghar 1403 exercise reflects the significant progress of the Army's Air Force in modernizing its fleet and utilizing advanced technologies. With its unique capabilities, this aircraft enhances the Air Force's ability to counter threats."

Brigadier General Sheikh emphasized that this joint operation demonstrated excellent coordination and cooperation among different aircraft of the Air Force, stating: "The successful deployment of the Yak-130 in this exercise promises broader use of this aircraft in future missions and further strengthens the country's defensive capabilities."
