TEHRAN (Defapress) - The border region of Shalamcheh is located 12 kilometers west of Khorramshahr in southwestern Iran, between Pol-e No and the zero point of the Iran-Iraq border. During the Sacred Defense, Shalamcheh was on the path of important operations such as Karbala 4 and Beit ol-Moqaddas, and the fighters had to overcome the obstacles created by the Ba'athists in the area.
As you enter the Shalamcheh road from Khorramshahr, the turquoise dome of the Shalamcheh memorial shines like the sun and captivates the heart. This place bears the closest resemblance to Karbala, and everyone, to the best of their ability, gives their heart to the pilgrimage of the martyrs' shrine.
In Shalamcheh, the entire era of the Sacred Defense can be revisited; the pilgrimage to the graves of eight unknown martyrs of Operation Karbala 5; the unparalleled feeling of lightness; from here, the heart sets out for Karbala.
Shalamcheh is the Karbala of Iran.
