TEHRAN (Defapress) -Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a weekly meeting with the press, commented on the funeral ceremony of Martyr Nasrallah, stating: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been actively working to secure Iran's national interests over the past two weeks, and the most significant event in our region was the grand funeral ceremony of the Secretary-Generals of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon and the remarkable participation of the people of Lebanon and other countries in this very large ceremony. As you witnessed, a high-ranking delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran was also present. On the sidelines of this ceremony, good meetings took place."
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "Our relationship with Lebanon, as a member of the United Nations, is based on recognized international rules, and we have close ties with the Lebanese Resistance. We believe that the Lebanese Resistance has been a very supportive and empowering part of the Lebanese government. The relations between the two countries are good. If there are any talks heard, both sides have discussed with a specific perspective and tried to resolve misunderstandings."
Baghaei, in another part of his remarks regarding the importance and status of relations between Iran and Turkey, added: "We place a very high value on our bilateral relations with Turkey. We are aware of the importance and existence of mutual interests in the relations between these two neighboring and historical nations. The two countries have been able to resolve differences and disagreements with a wise approach without damaging the relations."
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued: "The talks that we heard and unfortunately were repeated many times were unconstructive, and therefore it was necessary to clearly and firmly state Iran's position on this matter. What has happened in the region in the last 3 to 4 months, we are witnessing its consequences day by day more clearly in terms of the actions of the Zionist regime in the region and Syria, and our Turkish friends must think more about the results and effects that have affected their policies."
He emphasized: "What should be of concern to us, Turkey, and others is that we can create a secure region free from discord. We are determined on this path and believe that Turkey is both aware of and committed to the importance of maintaining and enhancing bilateral relations based on the national interests of the 2 nations. We hope to continue this path with mutual assistance."
