TEHRAN (Defapress) - Major General Amir Hatami issued a message following his appointment as Commander-in-Chief of the Army, expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him by the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

In the presence of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces,

With greetings and respect,

On the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Ghadir Khumm and the advent of the Eid of Wilayat and the completion of blessings from the Everlasting Being, and offering condolences for the spiritual ascension of the commanders, scientists, and innocent people martyred by the illegitimate and criminal Zionist regime to your wise and discerning leadership,

Now that this servant of the Revolution and the great nation of Iran has been honored with the special attention and trust of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces (may his shadow extend), I pledge to the lofty ideals of the Revolution and the pure blood of the esteemed martyrs that, with the vast multitude of valiant and self-sacrificing men of the revolutionary Army in the ground, air defense, air, and naval forces, we will protect and safeguard the independence, territorial integrity, and the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran until our last breath.

The valiant fighters of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in line with the command of your esteemed and powerful leadership, have sincerely exerted effective efforts from the initial moments of the aggression by the bloodthirsty and cursed Zionist regime, like the "Zulfiqar of Haidar" and in the sacred name of His Holiness Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS), to this moment in defending the sacred sanctuary of dear Iran. From now on, with full readiness, they will inflict severe blows upon the illegitimate and child-killing Zionist regime.
