TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran completely rejects the repetitive and legally invalid claim of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council regarding the three Iranian islands, mentioned in the statement of the Council's 165th Ministerial Session, and once again emphasizes and reiterates Iran's indisputable sovereignty over Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb as inseparable parts of the territorial soil of Iran, stating that the repetition of baseless claims in similar statements will not bring about any change in the geographical, historical, and legal facts concerning these islands.
Accordingly, while rejecting the interventionist propositions contained in the aforementioned statement, it is emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will take any necessary measures in line with exercising its sovereign rights to ensure the safety and security of these Iranian islands and safeguard the country's interests within their vicinity.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizing the rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Arash gas field based on historical rights and negotiation records, deems unilateral claims regarding this field invalid and clarifies that issuing repetitive statements and making unilateral claims do not, from a legal perspective, create any rights for the Government of Kuwait. Reaching a fair and sustainable agreement regarding the Arash field requires bilateral dialogue, joint effort, and creating a positive and constructive atmosphere to preserve and secure mutual rights and interests.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizing Iran's legitimate and legal right to benefit from nuclear energy in accordance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty, considers casting any doubt on the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program to be baseless and notes that Iran has always, while fulfilling its commitments under the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement, participated responsibly and in good faith in negotiation and diplomatic processes to build trust in this regard. However, the United States and European parties, through continuous breach of promises and flagrant violation of the principles and rules of the United Nations Charter and international law, have caused disruption in the negotiation processes.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran draws the attention of regional countries to the real and immediate danger posed by the weapons of mass destruction of the Zionist regime and emphasizes that the realization of a region free of nuclear weapons requires the collective resolve of regional countries to compel the international community to take effective measures regarding the weapons of mass destruction of the genocidal and aggressive Israeli regime.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, recalling the necessity of ensuring security and sustainable stability in the region with the participation of all countries and away from the destabilizing and destructive interference of actors outside the region, emphasizes its readiness to enhance interactions to achieve this goal.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while welcoming the position of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council countries in strongly condemning the continued genocide by the Zionist regime in Gaza and its crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people, emphasizes the necessity of taking effective and immediate measures, including halting any political and diplomatic relations with this regime, to compel it to stop its crimes in the occupied Palestine.
