TEHRAN (Defapress) - Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, Head of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, said in an interview with Defensepress coorespondent, about the upgrading of defense systems: “In the 12-day Sacred Defense, we fought not only with the Zionist regime, but also with all the military capabilities of the NATO alliance; in the sense that the Zionist regime entered the battlefield with a huge American-Western military support against Islamic Iran.”
Brigadier General Pourdastan continued: “The American-Hebrew-Western coalition, by violating all human and moral standards and disregarding international treaties, launched a massive offensive against Iran.”
The head of Center for Strategic Studies of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army added: "Naturally, in operations that focus on air attacks, the first obstacle facing the attacker is the air defense systems, and the enemies, using the high technologies they have, try to remove this obstacle by destroying it or by using cyber attacks and electronic warfare, which the enemy took measures in this regard in the recent war." He stated: "Most of the defense systems of our armed forces are indigenous, and their design, construction, and maintenance knowledge is carried out by innovative and thoughtful Iranian youth; for this reason, immediately after the 12-day sacred defense, the necessary scientific, technical, and industrial efforts were started to revive, rebuild, and "make the systems ready for use." Thank God, great strides have been made in this direction. In addition, considering the war experiences, some of the capabilities of these systems have been upgraded, which will definitely surprise the aggressors in a possible future war."
Brigadier General Pourdastan also said about the exploitation of the experiences of the 12-day Sacred Defense at the Center for Strategic Studies of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army: One of the main tasks of study and research centers is to continuously monitor the internal and regional environment, predict events, and prevent strategic surprises. In addition, analyzing and reviewing battles and extracting experiences and lessons learned are other missions of these centers.
He reminded: Regarding the 12-day Sacred Defense, many scientific research and specialized meetings have been held so far, and the result of these scientific efforts is a lot of bitter and sweet lessons learned that have been explained and compiled, and made available to decision makers for exploitation.
