TEHRAN (Defapress) - Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while rejecting the baseless claims made in the joint statement of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and the UK Foreign Ministers' Meeting regarding the 3 Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf, emphasized Iran's undisputed sovereignty over the Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa islands as an inseparable part of our country's territorial territory and clarified that these islands have been and will be an inseparable part of Iran's territory and that repeating baseless claims in political statements will not change any geographical, historical and legal realities.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman, rejecting the interventionist statements contained in the above statement, stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran will take any necessary action to ensure safety and security in these Iranian islands and protect the country's interests within their borders, in line with exercising its sovereign rights.

Baghaeiadded: "It is expected that the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, instead of repeating baseless claims and facilitating destructive intervention by parties whose policies and presence have caused instability in the Persian Gulf region, will strengthen regional efforts to develop cooperation to strengthen understanding and mutual trust between regional countries and not allow actors such as the UK, whose regional policies are inherently destabilizing, to interfere in regional affairs."
