TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al-Mayadeen, elements of the Southern Transitional Council of Yemen, which is supported by the UAE, issued a statement calling on their supporters to hold widespread sit-ins in Aden in southern Yemen.

The group has announced the purpose of this call as an official demand for the establishment and reformation of the state of South Yemen.
This call comes after elements affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council of Yemen and supported by the UAE took control of the province of Al-Mahra, located in the east of the country, on Thursday morning (December 4); a province that is located near the common border with Oman.
Control of this province was handed over to the said elements by military commanders affiliated with the self-proclaimed Yemeni government without a fight or conflict.
Al-Mahra province is the second largest province in Yemen after Hadramawt in terms of area and has two border crossings with Oman.
This incident occurred a few hours after the announcement of an agreement between local officials in Hadhramaut province and the tribes of the region, mediated by Saudi Arabia.
