Sayyid Hashim al-Haydari Issued a Fatwa for Jihad

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Sayyid Hashim al-Haydari, the Secretary-General of the Iraqi Covenant Movement and former deputy of the Popular Mobilization Forces, issued a fatwa for jihad to fight America and Israel by publishing a video file.

Stating that “we must fulfill our historical religious responsibility,” al-Haydari said: “America and Israel, in cooperation with the West, assassinated one of the great authorities in the Islamic world, the Leader of Muslims, in an open aggression.”

Emphasizing that we should not remain silent about this crime, he stated: “Revenge is revenge for the religion of God and is a very important religious, ideological, moral, and human issue.”

The Secretary-General of the Covenant Movement, noting that “this issue is not a question of homeland, language, party, clan or tribe, or fanaticism,” continued: “Rather, it is a question of Islam, religion, belief. This issue is a question of the right of God Almighty.”

He concluded by saying: "In this regard, it is shameful that the rulers of Islamic countries are neutral and watchful in the face of American and Israeli attacks on Iran, while the other side is cooperating extensively with each other."
