TEHRAN (Defapress) - On the first day of the Ramadan War, a girls' school in the city of Minab, located 100 kilometers from Bandar Abbas, was bombed by the US military, killing 150 Iranian students. This humanitarian disaster is considered one of the worst US war crimes in the history of West Asia.

US Is Responsible for Minab War Crime

US Secretary of War Pete Hegsett confirmed on Wednesday that a military committee is investigating the incident. However, the Pentagon referred reporters to US Central Command. "Given that this incident is under investigation, it is not appropriate to comment on it," said Captain Timothy Hawkins, a spokesman for CENTCOM.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said about the Minab tragedy: "The Department of War is investigating this matter. But it is the Iranian regime that is targeting civilians and children, not the United States."

Marco Rubio told reporters on Monday: “The United States does not intentionally target a school. If this attack was carried out by us, the Department of War will investigate it, and you have to go to them to answer that question.”

However, Reuters, citing informed sources, revealed that members of the military investigation committee recently confirmed that the US military was responsible for the war crime in Minab.

In the early days of the war, Israel and the US divided their attacks on Iran by geography and type of target. While Israel targeted missile launch sites in western Iran, the US targeted missile and naval targets in southern Iran.

The UN human rights office has also called for an investigation into the attack on the school, without saying who it holds responsible.
