TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Arabi 21, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces announced today the martyrdom of Saad al-Baiji, its operations commander in Anbar province in western Iraq, and several of his companions. This incident occurred during an airstrike on the Popular Mobilization Forces’ headquarters in this province.

Iraqi media previously reported that four Popular Mobilization Forces members were wounded in an attack on one of their bases in the Habbaniyah region of Anbar province.
According to a new statement by the Popular Mobilization Forces, 14 fighters from the Popular Mobilization Forces resistance forces were also martyred in these attacks.
The Popular Mobilization Forces statement said that this heinous crime represents a clear violation of Iraqi sovereignty and a dangerous disregard for the lives of the Iraqi people, and once again reveals the nature of the enemies' aggressive approach and their disrespect for international law or humanitarian norms.
The organization held the country's political currents responsible for confronting the repeated violations of the United States and adopting clear and firm positions in this regard, and declared that these currents must preserve the country's sovereignty and put an end to these dangerous aggressions.
