TEHRAN (Defapress) - News of an explosion and widespread damage to the Jubail Industrial Zone in Saudi Arabia was reported.

The Jubail Industrial Zone in Saudi Arabia is home to more than half of all Saudi petrochemical production.
Saudi Arabia’s SABIC, a Middle Eastern petrochemical giant with American shareholders, has also made a huge investment in the zone. With a production of 60 million tons, the Jubail Industrial Zone alone accounts for about 6 to 8 percent of the world’s total petrochemical production.
Jubail’s share of Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports is said to be up to 85 percent. Major petrochemical projects in Jubail include:
Sadara Complex: The American company Dow Chemical is a shareholder in it and, with 26 production units, produces more than 3 million tons of chemical products annually.
Admiral Project: This project is being implemented by Aramco (62.5%) and Total Energies (37.5%) and has a production capacity of 1.65 million tons of ethylene and more than 2.7 million tons of chemical products.
