TEHRAN (Defapress) - Following a televised interview with the Iranian people by Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, an excerpt of his most important statements was published.

Strait of Hormuz Is Under the Control of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Ghalibaf emphasized: “The Strait of Hormuz is under the control of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” He added: “We have dealt decisively with the US attempt to clear mines, and we consider it a violation of the ceasefire. We advanced to the point of conflict, but the enemy retreated.”

The Speaker of the Assembly also said: “In Islamabad, I told the American delegation that if their minesweeper moves even a little further from its position, we will definitely fire. They asked for 15 minutes to give the order to turn back, and they did.”

Ghalibaf noted: “If there is traffic in the Strait of Hormuz today, it is in our hands to control it.” Referring to the announcement of the blockade by the Americans in recent days, he described this action as “ignorant and ignorant,” and said: “It is impossible for others to be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, but we cannot.”

The Speaker of the Parliament warned: “If the US does not lift the blockade, traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will definitely be restricted.”
