Iran's Powerful Response Led to the Failure of Trump's "Project Freedom" in the Strait of Hormuz
TEHRAN (Defapress) - In an interview with Defapress, former Deputy Chief of Intelligence and Security of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Seyed Majid Mirahmadi, explained the dimensions of the recent US escalation and the scenario known as the "Project Freedom" in the Strait of Hormuz. Referring to the recent threats by US President Donald Trump that if Iran confronts the US move to allow oil tankers to pass through, a ceasefire violation has occurred, he called these statements baseless and stated: This is a naval blockade initiated by the Americans, and this action is a clear violation of the ceasefire and an act of war. The Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya (PBUH) also clearly announced this issue and warned that it will confront it and respond; therefore, Trump’s statements claiming a ceasefire violation are pointless and irrelevant.
Stating that Trump had once again made a miscalculation, Brigadier General Mirahmadi added: "He tried to absorb the poison of this action by creating a deceptive appearance and preventing the Islamic Republic from reacting. He even threatened in an exaggeration that if Iran took any action, it would be wiped out; but the response of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the armed forces was very grand, magnificent, powerful, and courageous, and in the initial action, it overwhelmed the enemy.
The former Deputy Chief of Intelligence and Security of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, explaining the details of this operation, said: Several oil tankers and container ships that had trusted Trump's empty promise were targeted, and they were made to understand by firing a warning shot that they could not trust the words of the US President. In this way, everyone realized that the Strait of Hormuz was under the absolute management of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He said: The American destroyer that was stealthily and secretly moving towards the Strait of Hormuz was also targeted by firing a warning shot. This decisive military action showed the Islamic Republic of Iran's response to be grand, courageous, and very effective.
In response to the US Treasury Secretary's claim that Iran had not gained any significant gains from receiving fees from the Strait of Hormuz, the former Deputy Chief of Intelligence and Security of the General Staff of the Armed Forces called these words an exaggeration and a lie, saying: Today, America, in addition to its other evil traits, is also known for lying, and this trait is very prominent in the president of this country. If the people and politicians of the world are asked who is the most deceitful political official in the world, the answer will be Trump and his deputies.
Referring to the traffic situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Brigadier General Mirahmadi noted: Traffic has not yet been established in this region to the extent that it generates income and fees; but when the conditions in the Strait of Hormuz return to normal, the opinion of all global economists is that Iran's income from fees from the Strait of Hormuz will be several times greater than from oil sales. This is considered a strategic achievement for the Islamic Republic from various aspects, especially economic.
