Gaza Will Ultimately Be Managed by Hamas and Islamic Jihad
TEHRAN (Defapress) - In an interview with the Defapress correspondent, Seyed Reza Sadr Al-Husseini, an international affairs expert, stated regarding the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement between the Zionist regime and the Hamas movement: Considering the agreements that were reached in indirect negotiations a year ago between Hamas and the Zionist regime, it was decided that Hamas would manage the Gaza Strip democratically under new conditions. Of course, during these negotiations, the Zionist regime also pledged not to cross the Yellow Lines.
Sadr Al-Husseini added: Currently, there is talk that the agreement is going to be fully implemented. However, given that trusted countries brokered the agreement reached between Hamas and the Zionist regime, the Hamas movement is set to undergo a metamorphosis and a structural change and, within the framework of political and civil measures, to govern Gaza without weapons.
The international affairs expert continued: The issue of Hamas disarmament is usually raised in the media without considering its context. The first part of this agreement was reached last year, during which several prisoners of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements and other Palestinian activists were released, along with several Zionist prisoners, which was considered a great victory for Hamas. However, this part is not taken into account, and only the issue of Hamas agreeing to lay down its weapons is discussed.
He noted: We must note that Hamas will fulfill its commitment in a situation where the Zionist regime does not cross the yellow lines, but during these days their forces have advanced and crossed the yellow lines. Of course, the Zionist regime is supposed to return behind the yellow lines. In addition, it is not supposed to carry out any new attacks during these days. International organizations will also be able to easily travel to and from the Gaza Strip for reconstruction and humanitarian efforts, and humanitarian aid will reach the people of this strip.
Sadr Al-Husseini added: The people of Gaza are supposed to elect their own leaders within the framework of a democratic election, because these leaders are supposed to elect municipalities, governorates, and the so-called local police within the framework of these elections, and whoever gets the highest number of votes will assume the responsibilities. In addition, the Zionist regime must also recognize this part of the Palestinian territory and whoever gets the highest number of votes to govern Gaza.
The international affairs expert stated: Hamas knows very well that no one other than the group of fighters has the necessary managerial conditions and capabilities to govern Gaza; The same ones who governed this strip before and after October 7th and during the Zionist regime's brutal war and the merciless slaughter of the people of Gaza.
He clarified: Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements have very good and high management and networking capabilities and have capable forces to govern Gaza; for this reason, there is no concern that people other than Hamas and Islamic Jihad will be able to govern Gaza. However, the important issue in this regard is that the Zionist regime fulfills its obligations.
Sadr Al-Husseini added: The Zionist regime has never fulfilled its obligations. This regime violated the agreement after the initial agreement and did not release other Palestinian prisoners. Although there was supposed to be no exchange of fire, we witnessed that the Zionist army continued its attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The international affairs expert continued: The Zionist regime attacked another part of the Gaza Strip in recent days and weeks, crossed some red and orange lines, and overall reduced Gaza to a very small size. This regime has also prevented the entry of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza through inhumane measures. In addition, Tel Aviv has trained a large number of Zionist militias that have attacked the people of Gaza in various places and have confiscated aid trucks while preventing them from entering the Strip.
He noted: "At present, Hamas has accepted the issue of disarmament and announced that it will abandon heavy weapons within the framework of the agreement and on the condition that the Zionist regime complies with that agreement, and hand over those weapons to international institutions under specific conditions. Of course, Hamas's main condition for handing over weapons is that international institutions ensure the life, financial, and territorial security of Gaza."
Sadr Al-Husseini concluded by saying: "This transformation of Hamas reflects the fact that the jihad and struggle for Palestinian independence will not end."
