Iran's Powerful Resistance Caused the Enemy to Retreat
TEHRAN (Defapress) - Ebrahim Azizi, Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, strongly criticized the performance of so-called Western human rights organizations, describing them as instruments of domination and the violation of nations' rights. Speaking at a ceremony commemorating Legal Basij Day and Islamic Human Rights Week, Azizi emphasized the need to promote an "Islamic human rights" framework grounded in human dignity.

Referring to the intrinsic and innate definition of human rights, Azizi questioned why self-proclaimed human rights advocates in the United States and Europe remain silent in the face of discrimination and atrocities against various nations, particularly regarding actions by the U.S. president. He asserted that human rights today lack the characteristics of universality, inalienability, and non-discrimination in practice, and are instead used merely as a leverage tool.
Azizi described the philosophy of the Islamic Revolution as being rooted in Islamic human rights and human dignity. He noted that since the Islamic Revolution's victory, adversaries have pursued objectives of overthrowing, partitioning, and subjugating Iran through coup attempts, the eight-year Imposed War, sanctions, and more recently, the 12-day and 40-day conflicts. However, he stressed that the resilience of the Iranian nation and its armed forces has thwarted all such efforts.
Citing remarks by General Frank McKenzie, the architect of the Abraham Accords project, Azizi stated that the U.S. has lost all its decades-long gains in West Asia, relying on what he called the "ignorance" of its own president. He also condemned enemy atrocities, including the bombing of schools and medical centers, as well as the downing of an Iranian passenger plane by the USS Vincennes, and questioned the silence of human rights organizations in response to these crimes.
Azizi concluded by announcing that the Iranian Parliament is working on a strategic action plan for the advancement of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, and called on the Legal Basij officials to safeguard the rights of the Iranian nation based on Islamic principles and national pride.
