Gaza ceasefire negotiations ended without results

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Reuters while citing two Egyptian officials reported that the ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas have ended without achieving any results.

The Hamas and Israeli delegations each objected to clauses in the agreement presented by the mediators. The Hamas delegation says that Israel has backed away from its commitment to withdraw its forces from the Philadelphia Axis when the ceasefire begins and has put forward additional conditions, such as screening the displaced when they want to return to their depopulated areas in the northern Gaza Strip.

A Hamas official, Osama Hamdan, told al-Aqsa TV on Sunday: "We do not accept discussions about withdrawing from what we agreed on July 2 or adding any new conditions."

According to a senior member of Hamas, Izzat al-Risheq, the Hamas group's delegation left Cairo on Saturday after talks with Egyptian and Qatari mediators. He says that any agreement should include a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal of IOF from Gaza.
