TEHRAN (Defapress) - Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, strongly condemned the continued brutal attacks by the Zionist regime on the settlements and tents of Palestinian refugees in Gaza, including in the Nuseirat camp, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of innocent people, including innocent children.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described as shameful the continued inaction of international institutions and the UN Security Council against the ongoing genocide of Palestinians due to the all-out support of the United States for the Zionist regime. He asked for urgent action by the international community to stop the genocide in Gaza and to try and punish the leaders of the occupying regime for committing heinous crimes.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recalling the warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the prosecution and arrest of senior Israeli officials on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, emphasized the responsibility of ICC member states to execute these arrest warrants. The spokesperson also highlighted the obligation of all states under general international law to ensure compliance with international humanitarian law and the prohibition of genocide. He stressed that, in addition to committing war crimes and crimes against humanity, the Israeli regime has undoubtedly perpetrated two other crimes under the ICC's jurisdiction: the crime of genocide and the crime of aggression.
Baghaei also pointed out the Israeli regime's disregard for the orders issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to halt acts of genocide and refrain from actions in violation of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. He emphasized the necessity for the international community to take effective measures to impose costs on the occupying regime's persistent violations of the law and to compel it to comply with the rulings of the UN's judicial body.
