Journalist Martyr Toll in Gaza Rises to 197

TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Palestinian Journalists’ Protection Center (PJPC) announced the martyrdom of journalist Hazem Abu Arqoub and his wife in the Israeli airstrike on Khan Yunis in southern Gaza and emphasized that the number of journalists who were martyred in the region in less than a month has reached 6.

The center emphasized that the Israeli army has pursued a policy of deadly attacks against journalists and their families since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.

The Palestinian Journalists’ Protection Center also expressed concern about the escalation of attacks against Palestinian journalists while carrying out their duties.

The center called on the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court to investigate the crimes committed against journalists in Gaza and bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice.

The number of journalist martyrs in the Gaza Strip has increased to 197 since the beginning of the war.
