TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, a report from the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has determined that the Zionist regime's assertions regarding the misuse of Gaza hospitals for military purposes by Palestinian factions are “vague.” This assessment comes in the context of ongoing Israeli assaults on health facilities that are safeguarded by international law.

Zionist Regime Criticized for Insufficient Information on Gaza Hospital Attacks

The report indicates that there has been a lack of sufficient publicly available information to support these claims, which are described as broad and imprecise, and in some instances, appear to be contradicted by existing public data.

The analysis vividly illustrates the devastation of Gaza's healthcare system from October 12, 2023, to June 30. During this period, there were at least 136 attacks on 27 hospitals and 12 additional medical facilities, leading to the martyrdom of doctors, nurses, medics, and other civilians.

Furthermore, the report highlights that the intentional destruction of healthcare facilities “may constitute a form of collective punishment, which would also be classified as a war crime.”

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk remarked that “the one sanctuary where Palestinians should have felt safe in fact became a death trap. The protection of hospitals during warfare is paramount and must be respected by all sides, at all times.”
