TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, the Zionist regime, using baseless excuses, avoided releasing 820 Palestinian prisoners after Hamas freed six of its captives. This move has jeopardized the continuation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Despite international concerns, the United States is supporting the decisions of the Zionists.
Brian Hughes, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, stated support for the recent decision by the Zionists.
The statement conveyed: "Donald Trump, the President of the United States, is prepared to support any decision Israel makes regarding Hamas and the continuation of the ceasefire agreement."
It added: "Given Hamas's inappropriate treatment of Zionist captives, including parading them in public and the celebratory gatherings of Palestinians, Israel's decision to suspend the release of Palestinian prisoners is justified."
The statement further noted: "Steve Witkoff, Trump's special envoy for West Asia, will travel to the Middle East on Wednesday to discuss with Israel, Qatar, and Egypt the possibility of extending the first phase of the prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement in Gaza."
