TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, the child-killing Zionist regime, in its efforts to intensify pressure on the Palestinian people, has now completely besieged Gaza and is preventing the entry of humanitarian aid into the region. This has endangered the lives of civilians, particularly vulnerable groups such as children.
In light of this, UNICEF has expressed deep concern over the critical situation of children in the Gaza Strip and has called for the immediate entry of life-saving medical and health supplies into the area.
Edouard Beigbeder, UNICEF's Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, after a 4-day mission in the West Bank and Gaza, stated: Without emergency aid reaching the Gaza Strip, approximately one million children are living without access to basic survival needs.
Beigbeder added: More than 180,000 doses of children's vaccines and 20 ventilators for neonatal intensive care units are waiting outside Gaza to enter the strip.
He emphasized: Unfortunately, around 4,000 newborns are currently unable to access essential life-saving care due to the severe impact on medical facilities in the Gaza Strip. Every day that these ventilators are not allowed in, lives are lost, and vulnerable premature infants, especially in the northern Gaza Strip, are at greater risk.
UNICEF has called on the international community to take immediate action to open pathways for humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.
The organization has warned that the continuation of the blockade and restrictions on aid entry is endangering the lives of millions, particularly children.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza has become critically severe in recent months due to escalating conflicts and severe restrictions on the entry of essential goods.
International organizations have repeatedly called on the Zionist regime to end the blockade of Gaza and allow emergency aid to enter in order to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in the strip.
