TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the Palestinian Sama News Agency, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas issued a statement stating that the leaders of this movement, in light of their national responsibilities, will carefully examine the proposal presented by the mediator countries and will present their response as soon as possible after the completion of the necessary consultations.

We Will Respond to the Mediators’ Proposal As Soon As Possible

In this statement, Hamas once again emphasized its principled and consistent positions and announced: Any possible agreement must include a permanent ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces from the Gaza Strip, a real agreement on the exchange of prisoners, the beginning of a serious process of rebuilding the damage caused by Israeli aggression, and the complete lifting of the siege imposed on the Palestinian people in Gaza.

An hour ago, Al-Mayadeen obtained the document proposed by Israel for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which includes various clauses.

Minutes before the official statement was issued, Sami Abu Zuhri, head of the Hamas political department abroad, told Reuters: "The proposal presented by Israel has not met Hamas's main demand, which is the regime's commitment to a complete cessation of hostilities."

He added: "For the first time, the disarmament of the Resistance has been proposed within the framework of the second phase of negotiations, an issue that Hamas absolutely does not accept."

Abu Zuhri emphasized: "The surrender of the Resistance's weapons is our definitive red line, and even hearing such an issue is unacceptable, let alone negotiating about it."

The Zionist regime has not yet responded officially to these reports and proposals.

On the other hand, Diaa Rashwan, head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Organization, claimed in an interview with Al-Qahera News: "Hamas knows very well that time is of the essence now, and I believe that this movement's response to the Israeli proposal will be swift."
