Heavy Ambush by Hamas Fighters for Zionist Forces

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli army radio reported on the details of the initial investigation into Friday's heavy security incident involving Israeli soldiers and their clash with the Mujahideen of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, which took place in the Shujaiya area east of Gaza City, resulting in the death of 2 Israeli soldiers, including an officer, and the wounding of several others.

The Israeli police announced that 2 of its soldiers, including an officer, were killed in the attack and 3 others were wounded. The Qassam Brigades had previously announced that its forces had targeted Israeli special forces who were sheltering in a house last Friday with RPG and Yasin 105 rockets, as well as machine guns, killing or wounding a number of them.

According to the army’s initial investigation, the details of the incident are as follows:

The forces of the 16th Reserve Brigade, operating in the Shujaiya area, prepared to move to carry out an attack 2.5 kilometers from the border wall. When the clearing operation was completed, these forces remained in the field until another ambush was carried out by the Israeli Elymas unit.

At approximately 4:25 p.m., the Qassam forces clashed with Israeli army soldiers inside a building in their ambush position, and one of the Zionist unit members was killed in the clashes.

A rescue operation was immediately launched, and more forces were dispatched to the area to rescue the Israeli soldiers from the ambush.

The clashes in the area to rescue the besieged forces continued for about 2 hours, and Hamas forces fired at least 5 times at the Israeli rescue teams during this time.

Also, a military vehicle that had been sent to the area to evacuate the Israeli soldiers was also targeted by an anti-tank missile attack by the Resistance, which injured one soldier. In addition, several anti-tank missiles were fired at 2 tanks from the 46th Battalion, killing one Israeli soldier in one of the tanks and wounding another.

Half an hour later, the anti-tank missile fire continued, and 2 other Israeli soldiers were wounded when the Resistance forces opened fire with light weapons at the Israeli soldiers.

Israel’s Channel 12 TV quoted the regime’s army as saying that the process of evacuating the wounded from the Shojaiyeh area was very complicated, and the operation lasted 2 hours and included 5 rounds of clashes.
