Iran and Pakistan Are Firmly Determined to Eradicate Terrorism

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Pakistan’s Army Chief, Marshal Asim Munir, visited the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran this morning (Tuesday) and held talks with Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran.

During the meeting, Major General Bagheri welcomed Marshal Asim Munir and his accompanying delegation, emphasizing that the strategic perspective and deep, enduring interest of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution towards Pakistan remain strong. He stated: "The two countries of Iran and Pakistan are firmly determined to eradicate terrorism on both sides of the border, and the coordination between the armed forces of Iran and Pakistan regarding border control has been effective and valuable. Therefore, these collaborations must be further enhanced."

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces also congratulated the Pakistani Army Chief on his promotion to the rank of Marshal, describing competence as one of General Asim Munir’s distinctive qualities. He added: "Last year’s visit to our brotherly and friendly country of Pakistan was marked by hospitality and very good memories. The armed forces of the two countries must always maintain and strive to enhance their military and defense cooperation at all levels."

Marshal Asim Munir, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended by Iran and its armed forces, stressing the need to strengthen cooperation and elevate the level of interaction between the armed forces of Iran and Pakistan.

The Pakistani Army Chief added: "The armed forces of Iran possess valuable experience in various fields, and we are always striving to expand and enhance security and defense cooperation with Iran."

In conclusion, Marshal Asim Munir emphasized strengthening cooperation in the fight against terrorism along the shared borders.
