TEHRAN (Defapress) - Hannah Grace Pan, a paediatric nurse volunteering from the UK, has described dire conditions in Gaza’s hospitals, speaking to Al Jazeera. "There aren’t enough beds, not enough staff to treat patients, people are lying on the floor," she said.
Many patients, including young children, are suffering from severe blast injuries and burns, but are receiving no pain relief due to shortages. Grace Pan recounted the case of a three-year-old boy, the sole survivor of an airstrike that killed his entire family. Despite his critical burns, no burn specialist was available to treat him. With limited medical supplies, including insufficient fluids and no food, his recovery will be painfully slow.
One of the most harrowing cases she witnessed involved a 30-week pregnant woman struck by shrapnel from an Israeli attack. The metal fragment tore through her chest and abdomen. When doctors delivered the baby, they found it had been killed by the shrapnel.
