580 Palestinians Martyred, 4,000 Injured in Aid Convoys

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the Shahab news agency, a spokesman for the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital told Al Jazeera that more than 580 Palestinians have been martyred and over 4,000 injured in humanitarian aid convoys.

He continued that the increase in the number of injured people is putting additional pressure on the health and medical system in the Gaza Strip, and the new food aid strategy for Gaza has created a deep crisis for the health system in Gaza.

He pointed out that the medical structure in Gaza has almost collapsed due to the increase in injuries as a result of the Israeli regime's attacks, and said: "We are living in a very complicated situation, and the shelters and tents of the displaced are not receiving any aid." The occupation also targets areas where food is distributed to Gaza residents.

The Gaza health official, noting that malnutrition is widespread in all Gaza governorates, stressed that diseases are widespread in various areas of Gaza, especially among children. In addition, more than 400 cases of meningitis have been registered in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the year.

The Gaza health official stated that international organizations must fulfill their responsibility in supporting Gaza’s medical institutions.
