TEHRAN (Defapress) - In recent years, Gaza has emerged as a symbol of cruelty and the systematic violation of international law by the Zionist regime. Within these calamities, Palestinian children constitute the largest share of casualties in a war that is not a confrontation of armies, but rather the annihilation of innocence and the destruction of a nation’s future.
Statistics published by international institutions indicate that thousands of Palestinian children have been killed in the repeated assaults launched by the Zionist regime on Gaza. The deliberate bombardment of homes, schools, hospitals, and even refugee camps illustrates that children are not incidental victims, but are systematically exposed to death. In effect, this policy seeks to obliterate the future generations of Palestine.
One of the most alarming dimensions of this human tragedy is the meaningful silence of Western powers, led by the United States. Nations that outwardly proclaim commitment to human rights, in practice, not only fail to prevent the massacre of children in Gaza, but through the provision of arms and political support to the Zionist regime, become direct accomplices in these atrocities.
Equally significant is the reemergence of the West’s double standards, laid bare once more in the case of Gaza. The contrast between their approach to the war in Ukraine and to the devastation in Gaza has exposed this hypocrisy more clearly than ever before in the eyes of the global public.
Regrettably, with the continuation of the war, the siege of the Strip, and the relentless bombardments, Gaza has been transformed into a place where children are either killed outright or condemned to lives marked by permanent injuries and psychological trauma. Countless children have been deprived of education, play, and a normal childhood. Human rights organizations have thus warned that Gaza is becoming a graveyard for children.
On the other hand, we must say that the genocide of Palestinian children does not only mean the loss of innocent lives, but also a serious threat to future generations of Palestinians. A society that loses its children or raises them in war conditions faces a cycle of social, cultural, and psychological crises. For this reason, the tragedies in Gaza will not only be a humanitarian issue but also a humanitarian crisis for the region and the world, the main cause of which is the Zionist regime.
In conclusion, Gaza today stands as a mirror reflecting cruelty and global injustice, a place where defenseless children are sacrificed to political and military calculations. Should the international community fail to halt this course, history will record Gaza as the “graveyard of Palestinian children”, a permanent stain of shame that can never be erased.
