TEHRAN (Defapress) - Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has written a letter to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council of the United Nations following the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran.

The letter states:
Iran will continue to its legitimate right of self-defense immediately and decisively.
The aerial attacks carried out by the United States and the Zionist regime constitute a clear violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter and are a clear example of armed aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In response to this act of aggression, Iran is exercising its inherent and legitimate right of self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will utilize all necessary defensive capabilities and means to counter this criminal aggression and deter hostile actions.
All bases, facilities, and assets of the hostile forces in the region will be considered legitimate military targets within the framework of Iran's right of self-defense, and Iran will continue to exercise its legitimate right of self-defense immediately and decisively until the complete and unconditional cessation of aggression.
