Reviewing Military Operations during the Imposed War in Panel Discussions in Universities and Scientific Centers

While explaining some of the programs of the Holy Defense Week, Head of the Foundation for Preserving Works and Publishing Values of the Holy Defense and head of the Central Committee of Commemorating the Holy Defense Week, Basiji Brigadier General Dr. Bahman Kargar, expressed that the operations of the 8-year imposed war on Iran will be reviewed and analyzed in panel discussions in scientific centers at the presence of the commanders of these operations.

Iran News Network, BGen Bahman Kargar stated: 500 programs will be held in this week and 54 national programs are also on the agenda of the Central Committee of Commemorating the Holy Defense Week. In this week there will be panel discussions for reviewing and analyzing Holy Defense operations at the presence of the operation commanders. These programs will be held in universities, scientific centers, and military bases and centers.
BGen Kargar insisted: as announced before, past programs will not be repeated and IRIB has also announced that only new programs will be broadcasted in this week. He also added: with the new audience survey that we have carried out for programs of the holy defense week, most of these programs are planned for the youth. In my opinion, this is an opportunity and a means for introducing the courageous acts and the achievements of the holy defense to the youth. If we don't take benefit of this opportunity it could change to a threat.
Kargar continued: in the holy defense week, the Resistance Festival will be held. Furthermore, the National Exhibition of Resistance Books will be held in the Holy Defense Museum. Good measures have been taken for translating Holy Defense books and some authors of the translated books will be present in the Frankfurt Book Fair.
He mentioned that: yesterday an exhibition about the Holy Defense was held in the Parliament at the presence of the Speaker. In addition to the cultural programs planned for this week, paying tribute to the honorable families of the martyrs and those wounded in action are among the programs of this week.
Kargar stated that: with the approval of the Public Culture Council, the 7th of Mehr (Oct. 29th) was named as the Martyred Commanders Day. This day is concurrent with the martyrdom of a group of the commanders of the Holy Defense. Commanders such as Kharrazi, Namjoo, Fakoori, Kolahdooz, and Jahanara.
He continued: In a meeting with members of the City Council of Tehran, the members of the council proposed that a memorial be built in the martyrs' cemetery in Kahrizak.
Head of the Foundation for Preserving Works and Publishing Values of the Holy Defense stated that: the Foundation was established in 1990 by the order of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader and Commander in Chief of Armed Forces. The Supreme Leader defined two important duties for this foundation i.e. preventing the forgetting of values of the Holy Defense and avoiding the distortion of Holy Defense works and values.
Sardar Kargar expressed: the main duty and aim of this foundation, as its name suggests, is to preserve the works related to the Holy Defense and to disseminate its values and promote the spirit of jihad, resistance, and martyrdom.
He continued: This foundation is the main authority for identifying and confirming the records and documents related to the Holy defense. Our aim is that any film that is produced or any novel that is written about the Holy Defense, it may take benefit of such records. That’s one of the main missions of the Research Center for Holy Defense Science which operates under this foundation.
BGen Kargar stated that: this year we succeeded to establish the Holy Defense Works and Records Organization in which all records related to the Holy Defense must be preserved so that we may provide them to researchers in the field of Holy Defense.
Kargar said: If we want to speak with the current generation about the Holy Defense Era, we should express that the Holy Defense was truly a scene in which everybody played a role. No matter with what accent or from which ethnicity or religion, people participated in the defense; Various political tastes were present in the Holy Defense and age was not an important factor either. Of course there were some limitations for young individuals, however, some of those who wanted to go to war but didn't meet the age limits manipulated their ID cards to make themselves appear older than they were.
Sardar Kargar added: There was competition between those who wanted to volunteer for the war. The competition was for serving the country and for sacrificing and these people volunteered for really hard scenes.
Bgen Kargar also mentioned: the Najaf Military Base had an influential presence in operations such as Kheybar, Badr, Karbala-4, Karbala-5 and especially Valfajr 8 which was conducted in the west of Iran and in Halabcha.
