TEHRAN (Defapress) - Amid ongoing reactions from Hezbollah officials and representatives to the Lebanese government's unpatriotic decision to disarm the resistance, Ali Al-Meqdad, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in Lebanon's parliament, declared last night: "The decision made by the government was the result of dictates from the U.S. and the Zionist regime, as everyone saw, the first congratulatory message came from Avichay Adraee, the spokesperson for the Zionist regime’s military."
Speaking at a memorial event in southern Lebanon, Ali Moqdad said: "The government’s decision to disarm the resistance will remain, for us, like ink on paper; it doesn’t even hold the value of the ink used to write it."
He added: "Those who talk about disarming the resistance should first equip the Lebanese army with missiles and fighter jets so it can stand against Zionist enemy aggression. Until that happens, we warn them all: don’t play with fire. We are the first to demand the protection and stability of our country, and we have paid a heavy price in defending Lebanon, so don’t argue with us."
The Hezbollah representative emphasized: "On behalf of the families of martyrs, millions of people, and every honorable person in Lebanon, whether Sunni, Christian, Druze, or Shiite, who refuse humiliation and collapse, we reject this decision and the government’s actions. Our message is: do not listen to external dictates or the orders of the American-Zionist enemy. Lebanon must be protected from all threats and dangers by its Resistance and army."
Ali Al-Meqdad stressed that "we want the army to work alongside the Resistance and the Lebanese people to protect the country."
Ibrahim al-Moussawi, another member of the Resistance bloc in Lebanon’s parliament, also stated in a speech: "There is ongoing concern about Lebanon’s security situation and internal peace. The biggest problem is the government’s irresponsible decision on a serious and vital issue without considering a fundamental component of the country. The decision regarding the monopoly of arms is completely irresponsible."
In an interview with LBC, Ibrahim al-Moussawi stressed: "Lebanese public opinion is in a state of turmoil and alert, but we emphasize the necessity of maintaining internal peace. The actions of officials impact this issue. The decision to monopolize arms in the hands of the state was not based on Lebanon’s National Charter and is an illegal decision. The government itself has admitted that it faced immense pressure when discussing the document of Tom Barak, the U.S. envoy. The government must pay more attention to the domestic situation."
The Hezbollah representative added: "We are carefully examining the issues to create the necessary groundwork and define our own vision."
